When and how often does my baby drink?

Offer your baby your breast when he/she is hungry. Your baby will be breast-fed as needed, and within a few days, your milk production will be adjusted accordingly. If your baby’s appetite increases, he/she will want to drink more frequently. This stimulates milk production and the volume of milk produced will adapt to “increased demand”. More milk production also means that the periods between drinking will automatically become longer.
